Standing Shift

Standing Shift was a dance and photography performance developed by Neil Fisher and David Lockwood and was included in the “ Body Ornament” touring exhibition originated by Northwest Arts and Manchester Metropolitan University. It consisted of photographing moving images of Neil which were montaged together with anatomical illustrations and printed on to very large pieces of transparent Lith film. These were then suspended within the black dance space which hide there content as it was lit from the sides only. Neil then dressed in a white suit performed in the space and interacted with the images on the film by performing behind them, revealing there subject to the audience with his suit and movements.
